Foreign Minister Bilawal postpones Europe Tour after the flood situation in Sindh worsens.
Sunday: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto called off his official tour to the European capitals due to the worsening flood situation in parts of Sindh.
Bilawal was supposed to visit Germany, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark from 22 to 26 August at the invitation of his counterparts as part of a renewed push to seek deeper cooperation with one of the largest trading partners of Pakistan, the 27-member bloc.
Two more districts in Sindh were declared “calamity-hit”, taking the total to 13 following catastrophic rains and flooding which caused the FM to postpone his tour. Bilawal was scheduled to fly to Germany on Monday on his first tour of the EU countries since assuming office.
A Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) source said that “A revised schedule with the same itinerary will be announced soon”.
