Citizens head towards Korangi Causeway and swim in rainwater as no police are deployed in the area.

Karachi: The Korangi Causeway and Korangi Crossing Road have been closed for traffic for 6 days as part of security measures due to flooding in the Malir River after heavy monsoon rains in the city.

Citizens decided the place is perfect for a picnic and took risks instead of staying at home in the bad weather as they reached the Korangi Causeway with their children to witness the flooding in the Malir River. There were no police deployed in the area which allowed the children to swim in the rainwater.

After heavy monsoon rains on Wednesday, the Sindh Education Department announced the closure of the educational institutions on Thursday. Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasted heavy rains in the province on Thursday as well, especially in Karachi, but there were no major showers in the city.

A family enjoying on Korangi Causeway said “We reached there with children, food, and drinks to entertain ourselves after the weather turned pleasant,”

A family also said that Korangi Causeway presents a view of the sea and that “the children are having a great time.”
