Citizens gathered outside Central Press Club in Muzaffarabad to protest against the illegal rule of India.
Indian Independence Day was marked as Black Day by the Kashmiris as they carried out protest rallies and demonstrations in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) capital Muzaffarabad and other districts of the valley.
Citizens gathered outside the Central Press Club despite heavy rain to protest, carrying black flags and wearing black armbands.
The protesters carried slogans against India and its illegal military occupation of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The speakers said that the “curfew and military siege in IIOJK is a testament that Kashmiri people have nothing to do with India and they demand their right to self-determination”,
The speakers also demanded that the United Nations Security Council should conduct a free, fair, and impartial plebiscite according to its resolutions for a peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue.
“If the Indian government does not abandon the campaign in IIOJK, then the same will be started throughout Azad Kashmir where the Indian flag will be under the foot of every Kashmiri citizen’, the speakers added further.
