3 Electrocuted, as Karachi Faces Urban Flooding Once Again

The strong monsoon spells have engulfed Karachi since Saturday night due to which the city is flooded once again.

According to the Met Department, the system will remain in Karachi till Tuesday but it may start weakening later in the day today.

3 people have lost their lives in Karachi by being electrocuted. Low-laying areas in the city witness terrible flooding with citizens facing severe problems. A lot of the commercial areas have also been flooded after the heavy rains wreaked havoc.

The heavy downpour is continuing in the city in many areas including Clifton, DHA, Federal B Area, North Karachi, Nazimabad, New Karachi, PECHS, Bahadurabad, Muhammad Ali Society, Tariq Road, PIB Colony, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, and Gulistan-e-Johar. According to the Met Department, the highest rainfall recorded in the city as of yet is 201mm at PAF Base Masroor.

Sindh Government also declared a public holiday today (Monday, 25th July) on account of drastic flooding and rain in the city.
